How can I relax when having one and is the only treatment for them medicine, in this economy im afraid the cost of taking meds or going to see a therapist will make them even worse for me! PLEASE HELP its 3am and I cant sleep because im having one right now!

can anxiety attacks make your lungs/chest area sore?

lily123 asked:

I am 24 y/o and I only smoke socially which is very rare since I suffer from anxiety.

Two weeks ago I had severe panic attacks 7 days straight. Shortness of breath, chest tightening, hard to breath, intense fear and feeling of doom (Docs tell me my heart is fine (because I’m always thinking it’s heart related), so I know my experiences are panic related).

But now for the past week I have severe heartburn/acid reflux, and when I try and take a deep, slow breath, it gets a little tight in my chest, like if I had pnemonia (had that once). I can take the breath, but it’s not totally comfortable.

I am healthy (at least I think so)…not coughing, no mucus, I don’t have allergies, I don’t sneeze.

Do you think the constant strain on my muscles from 7 days of attacks has caused this feeling?

I made an appt. w/my doctor in two weeks…I read the acid can make it hard to take a deep breath. I’m thinking I have acid reflux all of a sudden b/c of the constant panic and stress…

Any thoughts???

Panic attacks? or what?

a girl asked:

Okay so about 2 months ago my best friend had a seizure/ panic attack in my arms. Not sure which one. We think it was cause by smoking weed. she waited a few weeks and smoked again and she was fine. Two weeks ago i smoked before school and had a panic attack in my first class, every since then my heart feels like its 400 pounds and i cannot sleep. yesterday i tryed smoking again and felt like i was going to have another so i stopped smoking but i got the increased heartbeat and chest pain again. I woke up last night at 1 and couldnt fall back asleep and my heart felt heavy again and i had fear of having another one. Now its like im stuck like this and my heart hurts and i have to constantly remind myself to keep calm and take deep breathes because im scared. Also i wont leave my moms side, and i dont feel like hanging out with my friends or seeing anyone. One of my friends said i might have panic disorder or post traumatic stress disorder? Can someone please help, what do i have and what should i do?

Could my breathing problems be caused by stress?

April 2nd, 2010 1 comment
signs_of_poetry asked:

After a few years of nothing happening, I’ve had a couple panic attacks over the past few weeks. This week, after the worst panic attack of my life, I’ve felt like the air is thick and I have a hard time getting a full breath in.

However, when I fall asleep I don’t have any problems, so I’m wondering if maybe my panic attacks are having me focusing too much on my breathing. I’ve also had some cold-like symptoms (mild congestion, sore throat, cough) and I find my breathing is easier if I drink hot liquids and relax.

So do you think my breathing problems could just be related to being stressed about the panic attacks, etc along with some chest congestion?

I’m going to talk to a doctor when I can get in, but I want to see what others think too.

medication for panic attacks
Nikki asked:

i get these attacks where i get so scared of a thought or i get stressed out and i feel like im about to vomit (i have actually vomited before) and i get so scared where i begin to shake and i literally have to do jumping jacks or talk myself out of it or something to take my mind off of it. they happen more at night and ive been getting them more and more often over the past months. usually i can just do deep breaths to calm my self but like 55% of the time end up crying…when i was young i had like one or 2 a month but they went away for years and now they are back and i don’t no if this is something i should treat with medication or not..anny ideas??
