i have been digonosed with IBS and anxiety panic attacks and it causes so many problems and i would just like to know how you deal with it, when your having these attacks ?? xxx

IBS you really need to get to know what irritates you and cut things out of your diet to give you peace of mind. For the panic attacks, I used to get them too. I was telling my GP how scared I was and she noticed how I was breathing in a very shallow way. She recommended a book by Dinah Bradley called Hyperventilation Syndrome which teaches you how to breathe properly to avoid attacks. It helped me heaps. I stay away from meds and have found that when I feel that building sensation that Rescue Remedy helps me and I kick into control of my breathing to stop that gasping for breath situation that starts off the downward spiral into a full blown attack. It’s more about control than cure.
weed out the causes of your attacks. Though sudden and somewhat unexpected at times, these attacks are quite scary. The onset is often built up stress. I have found that trying to center your breathing and controlling your thoughts is better than medication at times. Though this requires practice -yoga is a good start.
i dont think this would be a diffucult case to manage. first of all i need to know the type of ibs like diarrhae predominent or constipation . secondly your age and profession and what are the most prominent symptoms disturbing you. however why dont you consult your local docotr.if there is a problem in that i am ready to help
I have anxiety, when I get an attack, I drink some hot tea. This includes having to actually function while having the attack. Drinking tea with chamomile like “sleepytime”. Also, I start thinking about things I want to do the next day that are fun and positive or things that make mee feel happy. When there is alot of stress going on in your life, you will have more frequent attacks. You need to drop these things that are bothering you from your life. It will get better believe me.
As a long time sufferer of both, here are my suggestions: 1st: Stay away from Xanax and other anti-anxiety drugs. Long term use over 1 month makes symptoms worse in the end.
Don’ sweat the small stuff. Live in an “Attitude of Gratitude” be thankful for what you have and reflect on the fact that you are alive. Everything always works iteself out in the end. Do not fight the universal rules.
I do Kung Fu and Tai Chi – Awesome benefits, extremely rewarding physically and mentally. You absolutely MUST exercise.
Read “The Secret” get it at Wal Mart or Target. Good luck and God bless.
