im borderline personality disorder i smoke everyday multiple times too it does help with anger management and makes you calmer, however if anything it doubles anxiety but smoking weed does have its benefits, and YES it DOES help panic attacks.

It is impossible to get physically addicted to marijuana. Any addiction would be psychological only, and yes, I have used weed many times to help with my anxiety and panic attacks. It’s a hell of a lot better than these man made chemicals doctors expect me to put in my body that cause liver damagem kidney damage, weight gain, and diabetes. So given the option, I will opt for weed every time. It is also physically impossible to overdose on weed. I know many patients who have been prescribed a drug like seroquel or clonazepam, and have overdosed, I know of two that fatally overdosed. Lay off your friend about her weed use, if she isn’t hurting anyone and mind your own business. You have no idea how she feels.

hell. yes. weed isn’t habit-forming. you can’t get addicted to it, but you can want it. it’s not unhealthy for you at all aside from the smoke.

It might help short-term, but long-term it could increase anxiety and panic attacks, especially when you are coming off the effects of weed. Don’t try it and I hope your friend can get off of it.

Nopers. It magnifies her anxiety. It’s like putting band aids on a gaping wound: throw as many as you like on there, it won’t stop the bleeding.

I had a personal experience where smoking actually sent me in to a panic attack. It scared me so much that it made me never want to do any kind of drug again…EVER. Really the only drug I had ever done was marijuana and I had only smoked like 6 times in my life. Anyways, drugs just make things worse. Medication that is out there, when properly prescribed can be very helpful in dealing with problems, but don’t turn to illegal substances…in the end they will harm you, and could even get you sent to prison.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called “St John’s Wort” – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that “learned behavior” in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….
