I think you should contact the doctor -
When the symptoms seemed to under control and now they are not – this needs to be brought to the attention of her doctor.!
This type of medication has to be carefully monitored, especially if your daughter is under 24 years of age.
She might need different meds, or another drug in combination with the Luvox.
Do NOT have her stop this medicine without a doctors advice.
She might also need to have the dosage adjusted -
Please contact her doctor.
MAYBE IF THE DR WOULD UP IT ALIL SHE MIGHT FEEL BETTER THERES ALSO OTHER MEDS SHE COULD TAKE WITH THAT ONE LIKE XANX THAT STOPS THOSE ATTACKS WHEN SHE HAS ONE I KNOW CUZ IM ON IT.
Josie, only your/her doctor can really say, however, it’s quite likely that one of the 2 scenarios you mentioned will need to take place….SSRIs (Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors) can start to lose effectiveness over time. So, to treat her symptoms, she might be put on a higher dose of 50mg or every other day, take a 50mg and 25mg on certain days- these meds build up in the bloodstream and go into the brain.
Or, now there are additionals that go WITH thngs like Zoloft. Personally, although a little expensive, I have found either (right now anyhow) Lexapro to be majorly effective with few minor side effects (not really noticeable on a daily basis) Lexapro is a BIG seratonin RI. Also, on the cheap side, and depending on her age, there is the possiblity of switching to generic Prozac, or fluoxetine HCL. It works WELL, but is indicated more for depression, although it’ll help for a while …BW, I found that it’s NOT wise to have someone especially young, take Prozac for more than 6 months at a time- it’s very strong and it works, but a rest or weening-off period must come every 6-10 months at the most..
I hope that helped some..
Try Byron Katie’s worksheets – they are great for working through any issues like this.
Try the free emails from the panicaway website.
Here is a link about someone who overcame their panic attacks.
Keep two journals. One for writing down all your feelings, this is really good for clearing out your anxieties and getting all your
war onto paper, you can delete it straight after if you need to, it’s just good to really see your stressful thinking. And the other can be your gratitude journal – write down all the things you are grateful for that happened today.
You are a wonderful, kind, loving, capable person.
Best wishes.

Hey, I truly understand how you feel…
The “impending doom” feeling and the fight-or-flight response. I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work – I’ve tried them. Medications do NOT work – I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same – no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best – it teaches 17 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks. I’ve bought it and it really helped me – it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.

There are many ways to control an anxiety attack not just through medication. I never liked medication at least. This article here might help
Sorry to hear that your daughter is having to go through an anxiety disorder. I’ve been there. I believe that with the correct behavior mechanisms and cognitive changes that you can eventually taper off the medication until you no longer have to take it. I suffered with extreme anxiety and panic disorder, and am now doing just fine and haven’t taken a pill in over a year.
I suffered with severe anxiety and panic disorder for years, to the point where I was sedentary and could barely leave home. Couldn’t drive a vehicle, go in a store, or do much of anything.
My biggest symptoms were dizzyness, head pressure, skipped heart beats, and lack of energy. I had a dozen others though, like eye floaters, stomach discomfort all the time, high blood pressure, chest pain, etc. I went to a lots of doctors, and saw just about every type of specialist possible, before I finally gave up and settled on it being anxiety. I went through a long process of behavior correction that was both self taught and taught by a good psychologist I had. Now I’m doing much much better. I own my own business now, can drive by myself (and just got back from a 6 hour trip), and stores don’t bother me anymore.
I know this all sounds crazy to someone who hasn’t experienced it, but to someone it has, hearing it from someone who has been there and made it through it, and found a way to make it go away can really help. I put together a program that’s a little over an hour long video course that goes through everything I went through to get where I am today. If you’re interested, you can find it at. There’s an introductory video there that gives an idea about what the program is about.
If I can help, just let me know.
