Deep abdominal (not chest) breathing. Inhale for 2 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds.

Anxiety attacks are no joke.
On one end there is COMA and on the other end is SEIZURE.
You cant be in a coma and have a seizure. Most people are in the middle somewhere and waiver back and forth... no big deal.

A panic attack happens when that balance is thrown off and your brain waives toward the seizure state. You may not be able to control it.
Most people can't. I would recommend seeing a doctor.

Like with me, it may just get worse and move to panic attacks.... and believe me, you don't want those. -good luck.

what i do is take a huge breath, and hold it in for as long as possible, then slowly let it out. repeat multiple times. your heart rate and anxiety will go down. dont worry about other people seeing you taking deep breaths. this one works for me, but u gotta do it a whole lot. another thing, is to not try to hide the anxiety. this might sounds weird, but, i have social anxiety, and when i just open up and not try to conceal the anxiety, the anxiety kinda flows out. like u gotta not try to be "normal" you have to let yourself be yourself. i hope this helps. in regards to other types of panic attacks, like those not related to social anxiety....i dunno. deep breathing doesnt always help me. sometimes medication can help a whole lot, but all the anti-anxiety medications have side effects, llike prozac, paxil, lexapro...... theres this one herb, its called "kava kava". it seems to work really well for my anxiety, u can buy it at lotsa stores, or online. but it kinda makes me tired, really tired.
