Xanax (Alprazolam), Valium, and other Diazepines or Benzodiazepines work well.

Yes, clonazepam is very good for panic/anxiety attacks. I take it 3 times a day and it has kept my attacks away for 1 year. Don’t just rely on the meds, do some research to find ways to destress and to deal with them. Good luck, they are not fun too have.

Xanax (Alprazolam), Valium, and other Diazepines or Benzodiazepines can be addicting, which is why they are last resort medications and should be monitored closely for signs of addiction.

However, they are the standard treatment to reduce anxiety.

yes it is one of the best. but should not be used alone and for a long time. docors usually use another one in addition from the group of SSRIs which are not addictive. also non pharmaceutical technics should be tried as well.

I have suffered with panic attacks too

it is in your head even when you have physical symptoms…the best way to deal with them is to talk yur way out of them.Example
I am having a panic attack it is only a panic attack nothhing bad will happen it will go away and check your watch and count how long they last. next time you feel one coming on talk yourself out of it by telling yourself that last time you had one it lasted 1 minute this one will be shorter and it will !! eventually they will go away. Stress causes panic attacks, being under pressure, I occasionally get them now and still remind myself it will pass quickly…. you need to do more things that free you up internally….release stress ( alcohol makes it worse ).

I dont remember the meds i had but I chose not to use them only if I really needed them… never did take a pill – its all in your head.

been there and back many times

People respond differently to different medications. Unfortunately, it can require quite a bit of trial-and-error to find what works for you.

I suffered from very bad panic attacks for a very long time. The current combination of klonopin and celexa has been wondrous for quite a few years now.

    Don’t give up!

Clonazapam is a first line choice for panic attacks. Just be aware that it’s an addictive drug, so don’t increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
