Obsessive Barbie asked:

I am 16 years old and always nervous. This weeks I have not gone to school and now I am so worried about that, and at the same time relieved because I just feel I can’t go. I have been abused, bulimic, had anxiety attacks, depression. I am not on medication, should I be? I see a therapist once a week, can she help me with this or should I go to my family doctor? When I feel nervous I have a big ball of pain in the centre of my abdomine (stomach?) and then I feel my heart being pulled at almost like being pinched by chains. I don’t know how to describe how I feel to my family, they are just really angry I haven’t done anything in the past week(s). How can I make them realize I am trapped in a mindset I don’t understand? I am so scared and I don’t know why. Help me.

7 weeks ago i started effexor, then 2 weeks ago i changed for zoloft. Effexor made the anxiety stay, and i still had panic attacks, but i think it helpe dmy mood.
Now on zoloft, the anxiety is gone, but my mood is horrible. I’m really depressed. wake up every morning not wanting to stay alive. And its so hard to fight that thought.
It took me 2 years to actually agree to taking the meds. and it was my last hope. now i keep having to change. Which by the way, i have side effects everyday for 7 weeks now. Its not a good thing..
Should i change again? I got a docs app. in a week. Should i go back to effexor, or try a new one? I’m going crazy. Im so sick of this.

Does anyone here have the same problem?
And most importantly, does anyone have any words of encouragement for me..?

How the h*ll do you cure depression?
Im scared to leave the house, i dont have much friends. I’m only 17. Im out of school so i stay home all day.
Ive tried going out more. but nothing interests me. and when i’m done being occupied. The intense, INTENSE depressed feeling kicks in.
Please help..

Sandy V asked:

I would like to get on medication (paxil) for panic attacks and constant worrying but I’m even scared to get on it because everyone says that it will be harder when you try to get off it. I have been trying to deal with my panic attacks for years now and I think that now it has gotten worse because I totally obsess about it and I’m even scared to be by myself. I had blood work done a while ago and I was told everything is fine. I feel very guilty for wanting to take medication for my panic attacks. Is there anyone that can convince me otherwise? I have the medication and I dread taking it because I feel guilty but then again when I have a panic attack I take xanax which I also heard is bad to take because you can become addicted to it also. I thought of maybe trying to take some vitamins for nervousness and maybe like an herbal supplement for depression. I would like to get to the bottom of this and get answers as to why I get this way. I lost almost every job I had and when I’m home I get depressed and dread over it and I start panicking because I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m working again and still under my 90 day period but I have a hard time concentrating on work and I was also get trained and I got very nervous every time I would make a mistake. I don’t know … I really want to medicate but not for long. Does this medication help you even after you stopped taking it?

Lori
